Kent Peterson joined Santander Asset Management (SAM) in 2018 and is the head of Global Multi-Asset Solutions.
Previously, in 2017, Kent founded Bastion QS, a hedge fund investing in a diversified systematic long/short futures portfolio. In 2005, he joined Columbia Threadneedle, where he initially did quantitative research in equities, asset allocation and global macro portfolios, before becoming a Senior Portfolio Manager in 2009, overseeing systematic portfolios in Asset Allocation, Insurance, Risk Parity and Futures. Kent started his career at Bridgewater Associates in 1999, in the Research department, where he worked on systematic global macro investing focused on EM debt, FX and Fixed Income. He later served as a trading associate focusing on market microstructure and liquidity distribution.
Kent received a PhD in Chinese History from Princeton University in 1999, having graduated magna cum laude in East Asian Studies from Cornell University in 1991.
